by Robert Frost
Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.
Nothing gold can stay.
Nate Note
Great lives, like nature's gold, all eventually pass away. Greatness by virtue, is the hardest hue to hold. May we each take our turn and pass as we must. . .as nature's gold.
