A Time to Talk
by Robert Frost

When a friend calls to me from the road
And slows his horse to a meaning walk,
I don't stand still and look around
On all the hills I haven't hoed,
And shout from where I am, What is it?
No, not as there is a time to talk.
I thrust my hoe in the mellow ground,
Blade-end up and five feet tall,
And plod: I go up to the stone wall
For a friendly visit.

Nate Notes

We will drop our labors for a friend when they visit but how often do we look over our labor undone and call out "What is it?!" to our wives and children?

I really like this one! It can be hard to remember that stopping a chore to build a relationship can do more good than waiting.
The work is going to be there when we get done being a friend. I think we should put people first.
Robert Frost rocks!!!
